KS2 Pack: Life on the Rocks, launched by Trinity House

Trinity House, the General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar has launched new tailored education resources for primary and lower-secondary schools.

Life on the Rocks is a new multi-media pack on the ever-popular topics of lighthouses and their environments. The pack has a wealth of information and activities to engage pupils and enliven lessons.

With the lighthouse as a starting point, the pack will give pupils an insight into the beauty and variety of our coastlines, the sea and its dangers, navigation, shipping and trade.

Based around these key topics, the pack creates excellent opportunities to enrich the curriculum for Geography, Science, Maths, English, History, Art, ITC and Design Technology.

And for Citizenship, teachers can use the activities to start discussion on current issues such as 'food miles', the ethics of trade and global warming.

The activities in the pack are designed for children of varying ages and abilities. Some are more suited to younger Key Stage 2 pupils, and others for the more able and those in the lower years of secondary school.
